does a smart phone charger stop after it is fully charged?

          Whenever our phone charging goes down at night before we go to  bed,we often get a doubt that whether to keep the phone charging the whole night or not? This is a common question which strikes every persons mind.......So I hope this helps you a little bit.
              Modern  cell phones battery uses are of lithium-ion or lithium polymer batteries.You need not worry about how long you leave your phone plugged in since these batteries are better at handling various levels of charge.Your phone stops charging automatically after it is fully charged to 100% but power will trickle in to keep it fully charged until you unplug it.This prevents damage to your battery.

                    Good quality chargers also have protection chips that prevent charger from releasing more power than what's needed.For example:when  the battery reaches 100% the protection hardware inside the phone will stop current from coming in and the charger will turn off.
                    When the mobile is fully charged it does not show the symbol of charging.It means it cuts off the current.Even though this facility is available it's better not to keep your phone charging over night because it will eventually decreases the life span of your phone.If you want a better battery life,try to maintain it's battery within the range of 10-90%.
