The basic unit used
for storing data in computer is called a Bit.A bit is nothing but a binary
integer i.e, 0 or 1. A binary prefix is
a unit prefix for multiples of units in data
processing ,data transmission and digital information, notably the bit
and the byte ,to indicate multiplication by
a power of 2.

The above table uses binary prefixes of digital storage. But
most manufacturers of digital storage these days use SI(International System of
Units) prefixes. For Example : 1KB=1000 Bytes, 1 MB=1000KB,……….
