How much space will I free up emptying my recycle bin?

Recycle bin stores only the information of deleted files. Windows has settings that it automatically deletes its oldest files when the recycle bin size approaches its maximum limit . Also, there is a maximum limit of recycle bin to each of your drives. So theoretically, you do not need to clear your recycle bin ,windows does that for you but for better memory management. As the deleted files slowly fill up the recycle bin, older files will be cleared out to make room for newly deleted files.
To empty your recycle bin, right click on the recycle bin icon on the desktop and select empty recycle bin or you can also do disk cleanup by right clicking inside any hard disk drive and choose to delete recycle bin entries.

To know how much space do u get when  you empty your recycle bin :
Go to >>My computer icon(or This pc)>>Right click on the C-drive>>choose properties>>choose disk clean up.There you can see the recycle bin. It shows the amount of space you retrieve by emptying the recycle bin.

You can see your recycle bin storage limit by right clicking on the properties on your recycle bin icon.

From the above image of my pc , you can see the amount of space available for each drives. I have a maximum limit of 7047 MB(7 GB) for my C drive. If my recycle bin reaches that maximum size,it automatically deletes the oldest files in my pc.

My D-drive has 390 GB of space available and my E-drive has 442 GB of space.

For my local disk(D:),my maximum size has changed i.e,22047 MB(22 GB). This is different for different drives. Each of your drives has its own recycle bin.
