WHAT IS VPN?            

VPN means Virtual Private Network.By the name itself it says that it is virtual as well as it's private. It is a tool that allows access to remote network in total security. It is commonly used by the users who require security over the internet to perform various activities. It is used to hide browsing habits from its ISP(Internet Service Provider) and the Government. Some hackers have the ability to intrude on the computer of a third party. To prevent from these types of incidents,it may be necessary to use a VPN if your data is much more personalised and complicated. The users will not have to fear of hackers & others wanting to access his computer to view and steal data. 

When the user uses a VPN system his internet traffic is recorded in a VPN server using an encrypted connection. Because of this encryption your actual IP(Internet Protocol) Address is hidden. The websites you visit will not be able to identify your true IP,as vpn server gives you the IP address  of the other country. It will hide your specific geographic location.We can have paid or free unlimited VPN. This mode of security is made possible by the use of VPN Protocols like L2TP,PPTP and also L2F,SSL/TLS.

USES/ADVANTAGES OF VPN:

DISADVANTAGES OF VPN:


  • The speed of the connection is reduced as the server bandwidth is less. This slowness is due to the need for encryption for security of data. It also depends on the distance between the user and his VPN provider. 
  • The longer the VPN provider is away from user’s country of residence, the slower is the connection.  So,while having a VPN connection make sure that they are having many services.
  • By using VPN the user cannot be 100% sure that he is anonymous. In fact, the VPN provider has the ability to view all the browsing history via its server.So,a VPN user must be aware of it before he uses it.
